AUA revenues come from a combination of sources, including tuition, operations, endowment income, grants, and private philanthropy. Position Purpose:

Reporting directly to the President the selected candidate will provide leadership in matters pertaining to policies and all work related to the accreditation process of the University, including following up on recommendations, designing and implementing strategies to communicate with campus segments, directing the Steering Committee, organizing WASC visits, drafting required reports, maintaining direct contact with WASC and remaining informed of new policies and educational trends related to accreditation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Secretary to the Board ensures that accurate and sufficient documentation exists to meet legal requirements, provides items for the board meeting agenda as appropriate, records minutes of meetings, ensures their accuracy and availability, proposes policies and practices, submits various reports to the board, maintains membership records, and ensures that the records of the organization are maintained as required by law and made available when required by authorized persons. These records may include founding documents, lists of directors, board and committee meeting minutes, financial reports, and other official records. The Secretary ensures that proper notification is given of directors' and members' meetings as specified in the bylaws. The Secretary may be designated by the Board of Directors and/or bylaws as one of the signing officers for certain documents.

As Accreditation Advisor, work with the Accreditation Liaison Officer by providing support in matters pertaining to the University's accreditation process, including assistance in preparing submissions, organizing WASC visits, drafting reports, maintaining records, facilitating communication with WASC and monitoring new WASC policies and educational trends related to accreditation.

Requirements

Qualifications: Candidates must have evidence of successful administrative abilities and management experience; previous experience in a higher educational system is essential; an earned graduate degree; excellent communication skills.

Requirements: The position is part-time (60% time), and while it does not require a physical presence in the office, candidate must be able to travel as required.
