Description
The Nurse is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the AUA Clinic located on campus. Key responsibilities include the consistent application of the nursing process and effective communication in patient care and health promotion. The Nurse provides health counseling, health education, and emergency care services to AUA faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
Clinic management duties include maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, organizing clinical appointments, assisting the physician during consultations, securely managing patient records, and providing referrals as needed.
Responsibilities
Provide or arrange first aid to stabilize patients while coordinating transportation to appropriate medical facilities.
Maintain patient records and documentation in accordance with privacy and confidentiality policies.
Maintain an up-to-date list of healthcare providers and facilities for faculty, staff, and students to support self-referrals for maternal, medical, surgical, dental, and pharmaceutical care.
Acquire, develop, and distribute health-related educational materials, posters, and other resources.
Support research protocols as time permits, including summarizing survey results and providing health information and disease prevention guidance to the AUA community.
Monitor food service hygiene.
Extract relevant information from student medical charts, compile lists, and categorize students according to physical education groupings.
Conduct and report on monthly inventory of medications in the Health Clinic’s stock.
Introduce and present detailed information about the insurance package and services provided by the Insurance Company to AUA faculty, administrative staff, students, summer program participants, and family members of AUA employees.
Schedule appointments with doctors and clinics, request “referrals” from the Insurance, and ensure these referrals are delivered to the appropriate staff, faculty, or students.
Organize annual insurance-related health check-ups and provide guidance to staff, faculty, and students regarding the clinic, date, time, and other relevant details.
Assist AUA employees in completing reimbursement applications and ensure necessary documents are copied and submitted to the Insurance company.
Coordinate travel insurance for relevant individuals.
Analyze services provided by the Insurance and contribute to the overall evaluation process.
Demonstrate first aid procedures during emergency drills.
Conduct brief training sessions on first aid for selected staff members.
Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor(s).
Requirements
BA in Nursing or in a relevant field.
Relevant clinical practice.
Good written/oral communication skills in English, Armenian.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Computer skills (MS Office, spreadsheets, database management).
Relevant work experience of minimum 2 years.
Excellent interpersonal and team building skills with an ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
Ability to work with a variety of constituencies.
