Description
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) at the American University of Armenia invites applications for the full-time position of Program Coordinator for the Master of Arts and Certificate programs in TEFL and the Center for Research in Applied Linguistics (CRAL).
Key Responsibilities
The Administrative Coordinator will support the effective operation of the MATEFL and CTEFL Programs and CRAL by:
- Coordinating day-to-day operations, scheduling, and organizational tasks for the Program and CRAL.Assisting with establishing and maintaining international relationships as well as facilitating related student and faculty exchanges.
- Supporting local partnerships for student fieldwork, teaching practicum and internship experiences, and faculty professional development.
- Advising TEFL students on course planning and enrollment within the established curriculum.
- Maintains, develops, and promotes the program’s online presence through updating website content and creating news stories, posts, and other media for social platforms.
- Providing translation support (English–Armenian) when needed.
- Handling documentation and communication with AUA’s Accounting, HR, and other administrative offices (contracts, payrolls, memos, purchase requests, reimbursements, etc.).
- Maintaining and updating student, faculty, and alumni databases (class lists, attendance, exam results, records).
- Coordinating events, announcements, schedules, and logistics for classes, exams, and program activities.
- Supporting faculty, staff, and students to ensure a welcoming, efficient, and professional academic environment.
- Supporting the Program Chair with recruitment and admission-related tasks when needed.
- Providing support to CHSS as requested, including, but not limited to, performing organizational tasks and substituting for other staff as needed.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Program Chair and/or Dean.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Education, Linguistics, Languages, International Relations, or related field.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong command of English and Armenian (written and oral).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Skills in content creation and media development, including writing, editing, visual design, and familiarity with website CMS and social media tools.
- Experience with academic administration, student advising, or program coordination (preferred).
- Proficiency with office software, databases, and digital communication tools.
