Position Overview: The BA in English and Communications Program at the American University of Armenia (AUA) (https://baec.aua.am) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Communications, starting in July 2026. Faculty members at AUA are expected to teach three courses per semester, engage in program development and university service, and pursue an active research agenda.

The English and Communications Program at AUA aims to equip students with the diverse literacies necessary to analyze complex problems and produce innovative creative work in the mid-21st century. Our graduates frequently gain admission to prestigious graduate programs at institutions such as Harvard, Columbia University, University College London, Sciences Po, and the Sorbonne.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications:The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in both teaching and research output. Candidates must hold a PhD in Communications, Media Studies, or a closely related discipline, or be ABD with an expected PhD by the time of hire. Applicants at the assistant professor rank should have some teaching experience and a record of peer-reviewed publications. Candidates applying for the associate or full professor ranks should demonstrate substantial teaching experience alongside an extensive portfolio of peer-reviewed work commensurate with rank and experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching non-native English speakers and/or conducting academic work in an international context. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to AUA’s BAC (Belonging, Access, Community) principles, as well as to social and environmental justice, anti-racism, and culturally sustaining practices within their research, teaching, and service.
Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with the university-wide pay scale and will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
