Position Overview: The LL.M. Program at the American University of Armenia (AUA) (https://law.aua.am) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in International Law, starting on July 1, 2026. This is an open-rank position, with rank and salary commensurate with the candidate’s degree, experience, and publication record. Faculty members at AUA are expected to teach three courses per semester, engage in program and curricular development, contribute to university service, and pursue an active research agenda.

Responsibilities

• Teach core courses in international law, including public international law, European law, and humanitarian law, as well as develop new electives.
• Pursue an active research agenda in international law, international human rights law.
• Contribute to curricular and programmatic development within the LL.M. program and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS).
• Mentor students in their academic and professional development.
• Participate in program, college, and university service activities.
• Teach in other relevant programs across CHSS, as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Hold a terminal degree in law (LL.M. or J.D.), with preference for candidates also holding a PhD in a related field.
• Demonstrate prior teaching and research experience, with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Show experience in the legal profession.
• Exhibit ability to teach non-native English speakers and/or experience in international academic settings.

Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with university-wide pay scale, qualifications, and experience. AUA offers an extensive benefits package for international hires, including a housing allowance and international travel allowance.
