The American University of Armenia is hiring a Senior Graphic Designer.
Responsibilities
Conceptualization and Design:
- Lead the conceptualization and design of visual assets, including but not limited tomarketing materials, branding elements, digital and print collateral, and presentations.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the University to translatedepartmental goals and marketing/PR objectives into compelling design solutions.
- Provide design concepts for different projects throughout the year, including AUA’s Annual Report, Commencement Booklet, Year-end appeals, Alumni Reunion, andinfographics.
Brand Management:
- Maintain and enhance the visual consistency and integrity of the AUA brand across alltouchpoints. Work closely with the different colleges and support units to build strongbrand alignment across campus.
- Contribute to the evolution of the brand identity, ensuring it remains modern, relevant,and aligned with industry trends.
Project Leadership:
- Take ownership of design projects, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables meethigh-quality standards.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the design team, fostering a collaborative andinnovative team environment.
- Supervise projects assigned to graphic designers including digital, and print collateralas well as some cross-functional initiatives. Serve as a design leader, providingguidance and feedback to designers.
Market Trends and Innovation:
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging design technologies, and competitoractivities.
- Integrate innovative design techniques and technologies to elevate the visual impact ofthe materials.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across campus including all academic and non-academic units as well as the Development team located in California to understandproject requirements and deliver effective design solutions.
- Work with stakeholders across campus to ensure consistency with brand guideline
- Communicate and present design concepts and rationale effectively to stakeholders.
- As a key member of the Media Lab team, work with students and faculty to support theiracademic journey, providing expertise to them as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor(s).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite(Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English and written and spoken working knowledge of Armenian.
- At least 4 years of work experience
