Position Overview: The Akian College of Science and Engineering’s BS in Engineering Sciences (https://cse.aua.am/es/) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Aerospace Engineering (Autonomous and Intelligent Systems) at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting in July 2026. Faculty members at AUA are expected to teach three courses per semester, pursue an active research agenda, and engage in program development and university service. We seek a dedicated individual who will contribute to our vibrant academic community through innovative research, teaching, and student mentoring.

We welcome applicants working across the broad domain of autonomous and intelligent aerospace systems, and we encourage candidates from a wide range of subfields. These may include—but are not limited to—advanced control systems; UAV and UAS design; autonomous navigation, and mapping; flight dynamics; AI-driven perception and decision-making; machine learning for aerospace applications; sensor fusion and state estimation; computer vision for robotics and aerospace; real-time simulation and hardware-in-loop environments; mechatronics; and emerging or interdisciplinary areas that enhance the program’s research and teaching profile. Candidates whose work bridges multiple domains or expands the field in innovative directions are particularly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a PhD in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related discipline. Applicants at the assistant professor level should have some teaching experience and a record of peer-reviewed publications.

Compensation is commensurate with the university-wide pay scale and will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
