Position Overview:

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) at the American University of Armenia (AUA) seeks to hire highly qualified educators to teach in the Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Governance (BAPG) program for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. The successful candidate(s) will teach one or more of the following undergraduate courses from the BAPG Catalogue

• PG 101: Introduction to Politics and Governance
• PG 113: Introduction to Armenian Government
• PG 205: Political Ideologies
• PG 206: Political Sociology
• PG 271: Religion and Politics

The successful candidates will:

• Teach courses in the BAPG program.
• Design syllabi, instruction, and assessments aligned with course learning outcomes.
• Foster an inclusive, engaging, and student-centered learning environment.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
• Hold regular office hours with students.
• Collaborate with the Program Chair and other program faculty on curriculum development and quality assurance, as needed.
• Additional responsibilities may be defined in consultation with the Program Chair.

Qualifications

• A Doctoral degree in political science or a related field. A strong, relevant professional track record can be considered instead of a PhD.
• Teaching experience, preferably in an international or U.S.-accredited higher education context, is desirable.
• Experience in designing and delivering practice-oriented courses is desirable.
• A record of research and/or professional achievements in political science or governance processes.
