The American University of Armenia (AUA) seeks an experienced, innovative, and dynamic academic leader to serve as its Academic Director of General Education. This is a critical academic leadership role that offers the opportunity to shape and advance AUA’s distinctive liberal arts curriculum and to ensure its continued excellence.  The Academic Director will work collaboratively across AUA’s Colleges and Programs, strengthen the general education framework, and promote academic rigor, while ensuring that the curriculum aligns with both AUA's mission and global best practices. The Director will also take on the important responsibility of serving as the Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) for the institution, overseeing the university's compliance with accreditation standards set forth by WASC.

AUA revenues come from a combination of sources, including tuition, operations, endowment income, grants, and private philanthropy. AUA is committed to an admission policy that is merit-based and provides tuition support to students based upon need.

Position Purpose:

Reporting directly to the President the selected candidate will provide leadership in matters pertaining to policies and all work related to the accreditation process of the University, including following up on recommendations, designing and implementing strategies to communicate with campus segments, directing the Steering Committee, organizing WASC visits, drafting required reports, maintaining direct contact with WASC and remaining informed of new policies and educational trends related to accreditation.
