The American University of Armenia is hiring an Research and Academic Liaison Librarian.
Responsibilities
Information literacy and instruction
- Lead information literacy team in designing, delivering, and assessing information literacy instruction sessions for undergraduate and graduate courses
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy concepts into curricula
- Promote critical thinking, information evaluation, ethical use of information, and academic integrity
Research support and consultations
- Provide research assistance and consultations to faculty, graduate students, undergraduate students, and researchers
- Assist Library patrons with identifying, accessing, and evaluating scholarly information resourcesDevelop research guides, tutorials, and other instructional materials
- Support faculty with the development of digital humanities initiatives and other collaborative projects
- Organize workshops, seminars, and research-related programming
Academic liaison services
- Serve as the primary library contact for academic departments and programs
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, program chairs, research centers, and academic administrators
- Identify and respond to evolving information and research needs within academic departments
- Seek out new areas of collaboration with faculty, staff and students, and help guide innovative campus initiatives
Collection development
- In collaboration with Library team, help select, evaluate, and manage library collections
- Analyze collection usage and make recommendations regarding acquisitions, renewals, and cancellations
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure collections support teaching, learning, and research needs
- Monitor emerging scholarly resources and publishing trends
Other responsibilities
- Stay current with developments in librarianship, higher education, and research support services
- Participate in professional organizations, conferences, and continuing education opportunities, such as AMICAL (American International Consortium of Academic Libraries) and IAALA (International Association of Armenian Librarians and Archivists)
- Help maintain a quiet and respectful library space via implementation of the Library Code of Conduct
- Participate in other Library projects as needed
Requirements
- Graduate Degree, or equivalent experience in teaching and/or research. Preference will be given to candidates with a Library Science or related degree.
- Fluent in Armenian and English
- 1-3 years of work experience
- Experience in development and teaching of instructional materials, working in service and/or research positions, familiarity with the landscape of academia and research
