AUA Zaven & Sonia Akian College of Science & Engineering (CSE) is hiring a Communications Coordinator, with strong interpersonal skills for interacting with students and faculty.
Position Overview: The Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and academic support to the university’s college, with a focus on optimizing operations, enhancing student services, and improving program outcomes. The role serves as a key liaison between students, faculty, and administration, ensuring seamless program delivery and contributing to strategic academic initiatives. This position requires experience in data analysis, benchmarking, and academic consulting, along with strong organizational, financial, and legal acumen to support the college’s goals.
Responsibilities
1. Student Support and Advising:
- Act as the primary contact for students, providing guidance on academic programs, course selection, and registration;
- Offer information on college policies, procedures, and academic requirements;
- Assist students in accessing university resources such as tutoring, career services, and counseling.
2. Faculty and Academic Program Support:
- Assist faculty with course scheduling, classroom arrangements, and preparation of course materials;
- Support faculty in curriculum planning and program development, offering consulting expertise on academic initiatives;
- Help maintain faculty records and assist with hiring adjunct faculty and teaching assistants;
- Provide data-driven insights for benchmarking academic programs and improving student outcomes.
3. Program and Event Coordination:
- Organize college events, including student orientation, workshops, guest lectures, and graduation ceremonies;
- Coordinate logistics for academic and co-curricular programs, including room bookings, catering, and event promotion;
- Assist with student recruitment, outreach, and college promotional activities.
4. Project Proposal and Financial Management:
- Support the preparation and submission of project proposals for new academic initiatives and programs;
- Assist in budget management, including tracking expenses, processing reimbursements, and maintaining financial records;
- Collaborate with faculty and leadership to ensure program proposals align with institutional goals and financial constraints;
- Provide support in reviewing and understanding legal contracts and agreements as related to academic programs.
5. Data Analysis, Benchmarking, and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and manage data related to student enrollment, retention, and academic performance;
- Provide insights from data analysis to support decision-making, program enhancements, and institutional benchmarking;
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for college leadership, accreditation reviews, and department meetings.
6. Operations and Office Management:
- Oversee daily administrative operations, including maintaining office supplies, processing paperwork, and handling inquiries;
- Manage the college’s academic calendar and ensure effective communication of key dates and deadlines;
- Ensure compliance with university policies, including legal and financial regulations.
7. Communication and Collaboration:
- Serve as the communication hub for students, faculty, and staff, ensuring the timely dissemination of critical information;
- Collaborate with other departments and university units to enhance student experiences and improve academic outcomes;
- Provide academic program consulting to align college initiatives with broader university goals.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred);
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Experience in data analysis, benchmarking, and academic program evaluation;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), and data analytics tools a plus;
- Experience in project proposal writing and budget management;
- Experience in higher education administration, academic consulting is a plus;
- Legal and financial experience is a plus.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong problem-solving and project management abilities;
- Strong data analysis and benchmarking skills;
- Experience in financial management and legal review is a plus.
