Description
AUA Zaven and Sonia Akian College of Science and Engineering (CSE) is hiring a collaborative andteam-oriented ERC Coordinator, with strong interpersonal skills for interacting with studentsand faculty.
Position Overview:
The Engineering Research Center Coordinator plays a key role in supporting researchinitiatives, faculty projects, and student involvement within a dynamic academicenvironment. This position bridges academic and administrative functions, facilitatingresearch planning, event coordination, data analysis, and project reporting. The Coordinatorensures smooth daily operations, manages communication and assists in the preparation ofresearch proposals and budgets. Strong organizational and analytical skills are essential,along with a solid understanding of educational systems and Armenia’s tech landscape. Theideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in afast-paced, research-driven setting.
Key task set
1. Student Research Support and Advising
- Advise students on research schedules, curriculum planning, and academic resources
- Serve as the main contact for student inquiries about research opportunities andsupport
- Connect students with funding, technical tools, mentoring, and career services
2. Faculty and Research Project Support
- Assist faculty in managing research labs, timelines, and documentation
- Conduct desk research and compile data for informed decision-making
- Support recruitment of research staff and maintain project records
3. Research Proposal and Financial Management
- Assist with preparation and submission of research grant proposals
- Manage budgets, track expenses, and process reimbursements
- Ensure compliance with funding rules and review related agreements
4. Data Management, Benchmarking, and Reporting
- Maintain research databases and track project metrics
- Analyze data to inform decisions and support proposal development
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external use
5. Research Center Operations and Administration
- Manage daily operations, supplies, and documentation
- Maintain research timelines, calendars, and internal coordination
- Communicate deadlines and operational updates effectively
6. Communication and Collaboration
- Serve as liaison between students, faculty, and partners
- Support clear communication of project goals and milestones
- Collaborate with departments and external partners to ensure project success
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following (or related) fields:
- Engineering or Applied Sciences
- Education Administration
- Project Management
- Public Administration
- Data Science or Information Systems
- Business Administration (with focus on innovation or tech)
Skills and Competencies:
To support the dynamic needs of an engineering research environment, the ideal candidate shouldpossess the following skills and competencies:
- Experience working within educational systems and a thorough understanding of their operations
- Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask
