Description
AUA College of Humanities and Social Sciences is hiring Assistant for the Center for Excellence in Journalism and Master of Arts in Multiplatform Journalism Program
Responsibilities
- Provides full administrative support to the “MA in Multiplatform Journalism (MAMJ)” and“Center for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ)”.
- Coordinates and provides assistance for contracting, procurement, and paymentprocesses, which include preparing and submitting service acceptance acts, memos,and other supporting documentation for projects and internal operations, as well assupporting the drafting and processing of contracts and payment orders, completingtimesheets and forms as necessary.
- Prepares and submits operational and administrative requests related to MAMJ and CEJthrough AUA’s internal systems.
- Writes letters and sends them to appropriate entities, translates short texts, handlesincoming emails, social media messages, and phone calls.
- Makes bookings, travel arrangements, and general logistical arrangements for MAMJand CEJ.
- Supports scheduling and organizing online and offline meetings, trainings, workshops,and project-related events, including logistical and other organizational arrangements.
- Keeps proper documentation, facilitates clarification when needed, and presents tointernal and external stakeholders.
- Follows up with students on issues related to their academic requirements and assists ininternship placement.
- Assists the MAMJ Program chair and the CEJ Director in the preparation of progressreports, project completion reports (narrative and financial), audit documentation, andother reports that may be required by the internal and external stakeholders.
- Determines possible collaborators for MAMJ and CEJ within Armenia.
- Acts as recruitment coordinator between the MAMJ program and the Admissions Office,meeting with Admissions regularly as required.
- Provides support to communication activities and preparation of communicationmaterials, including website management, online newsletters, managing and updatingmailing lists, social media, etc.
- Attends meetings as required and requested.
- Maintains and archives course syllabi and faculty meeting minutes.
- Acts as a communication liaison working with other AUA departments.
- Oversees all supplies and equipment and maintains an attractive and clean office.
- Performs other administrative assignments as requested by the Dean’s office of the AUACollege of Humanities & Social Sciences.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Management or related field;
- 3-5 years of work experience in project coordination or support roles
- Excellent writing skills in English and Armenian
- Strong communication and organizational skills, attentive to details
- Excellent interpersonal skills; adaptability, teamwork, problem-solving
- Computer skills (MS Office, G-suite, web content management (WordPress), social media management)
