The American University of Armenia is hiring a Senior Communications Specialist (Editorial).
Responsibilities
- Develop a University-wide content plan in collaboration with the Communications Manager.
- Act as editor, writer, and reporter for communications and marketing content across the University.
- Collaborate with another team member on day-to-day editorial tasks.
- Coordinate photography, video, and design to support editorial content and marketing materials.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with University departments to understand their editorial needs and incorporate them into the overall content plan.
- Arrange interviews with University and external spokespersons and prepare talking points as needed.
- Pitch, write, and edit branded content, including advertorial articles, emails, social media content, contests/sweepstakes, and other materials.
- Support the development of branded content strategies that align with departmental goals while remaining relevant to AUA audiences
- Copyedit content and establish and maintain consistent standards of voice, tone, and quality across communication channels.
- Develop headlines, decks, pull quotes, direct-mail copy, and other content to promote and amplify messages across various platforms.
- Write and edit marketing and communications materials (including posts, newsletters, invitations, signage, displays, posters, video scripts, presentations, and other texts) for University departments as needed.
- Write and edit major University publications, including annual reports, commencement materials, and other brochures and booklets,
- Update and edit content for general and departmental brochures, media kits, key messages, and fact sheets as needed.
- Manage daily editorial content activities within the Office of Communications, as part of a collaborative editorial team.
- Proofread AUA website content as needed,
- Collaborate with editorial, marketing/PR, and design teams to strengthen and enhance AUA’s brand.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor(s).
Qualifications
- University degree required, preferably in Journalism, Communications, or English literature;
- Native-level English-language skills required;
- Armenian language skills preferred;
- Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, organization;
- Editorial, journalistic, or writing experience required.
