Description

The American University of Armenia (AUA) Extension is the non-degree arm of the University that plays a key role in the education, growth, and advancement of regional communities by providing essential learning and practice opportunities, particularly with training in English language and topical areas most essential to each community. Our overarching goal is to ensure that rural communities have access to the knowledge and skills for the betterment of local residents. AUA Extension is appropriately resourced in various areas of adult learning, including languages, tourism and hospitality, small and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) support, as well as leadership and management, women’s entrepreneurship, information technologies, and other topics that may be most effective to meet the needs of local populations.

Congruent with the above description of the position, the Kapan Regional Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all AUA Extension activities in the Syunik region, working closely with the regional team under the leadership of the Extension Director.

Job responsibilities

• Coordinate AUA Extension activities in the Syunik region (working from its office in Kapan);
• Work closely with the AUA Extension team to identify regional priorities and strategies;
• Actively promote AUA Extension offerings throughout the Syunik region. Enable regional capacity development by filling existing knowledge and skill gaps based on regional priorities, local demand, and consideration of regional training needs in the region;
• Guide applicants in completing their registration to Extension courses;
• Engage in the process of Identifying new instructors and staff, as needed;
• Develop partnerships with local and regional governments, NGOs and private sector entities;
• Regularly update web pages and social media outlets about AUA Extension activities;
• Ensure the protection of equipment assigned to Kapan Extension;
• Prepare and process instructor acceptance acts;
• Perform other duties, as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience;
• Graduate degree preferably in Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related fields;
• Database management skills, knowledge of CRM;
• Fluency in English and Armenian; knowledge of Russian could be a plus;
• Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
