Description
The American University of Armenia (AUA) Extension is the non-degree arm of the University that plays a key role in the education, growth, and advancement of regional communities by providing essential learning and practice opportunities, particularly with training in English language and topical areas most essential to each community.
Job Duties
- Coordinate regional program development working closely with regional coordinators to identify local priorities and to establish linkages with AUA strategic priorities and Extension program models.
- Enable regional local capacity development based on local needs; identify growth areas with local coordinators and instructors to ensure that quality standards can be fully met across regions. This may entail identifying ToT needs for each region, creating synergies with partners to maximize resource utilization for maximum outputs.
- Work closely with regional coordinators to build strategic partnerships with local and regional government, as well as NGOs and the private sector, to maximize available resources for regional programs and synergies for strategic development. Ensure competitive course offerings are in place that duly respond to regional needs and contribute to workforce development in respective locales.
- With the guidance and support of the Director of Extension and professional staff, enable consistent course delivery in the regions, following approved curricula and syllabi, teaching methodology and support material.
- Ensure strategic and financially viable operations in the regions; coordinate yearly strategic plans for the regions; and ensure successful implementation, program and financial reporting on a quarterly basis against approved plans.
- Performs daily administration and coordination of regional programs.
- Coordinates market research, studies current and projected demand, identifies new business opportunities, and recommends courses/workshops in response to demand.
- Ensure that each region has a yearly portfolio of approved courses to be offered and a schedule of implementation.
- Provide detailed payment reports, as required. Prepare and submit all related documents.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Extension Director.
Skills and Qualifications
- MA in linguistics / humanities; MBA may also be considered.
- Strong written/oral communication skills in English, Armenian, Russian (desired).
- Computer skills (MS Office, spreadsheets, database management).
- Relevant work experience of 3 years and more.
- Strong teamwork and related organizational skills.
